Tour Description:
This scenic island drive takes in the sights of Basseterre, the island’s capital; travels to historic Brimstone Hill Fortress; and visits a batik studio in the secluded Romney Manor Gardens. Your entrance fee to the Brimstone Hill National Park is included in your tour price.
What You Visit :
Drive through Basseterre, admiring the city’s many restored colonial buildings. From Basseterre you will take a scenic drive on the coastal road passing fields of swaying cane to Brimstone Hill Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You have ample time to explore this 300-year-old fortification that is perched some 780 feet above sea level.
Continue on to The Caribelle Batik Studios, located in the secluded Romney Manor Gardens. These lush tropical gardens are a photographer’s dream and perfect for a relaxing stroll. At the batik studio artisans create colorful fabrics using traditional methods. Enjoy some time to browse the boutique before the return drive to Port Zante. Your route travels the coast road, offering views of Mt. Liamuiga, an extinct volcano, in the distance.
